Windows XP wont Hibernate - Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API
This is one problem i started seeing after i upgraded my laptop to 2 GB ram. Finally when i searched for this issue, I found that its a well documented issue and there is windows hotfix for it. This should affect Win XP users who have 2 or more GB ram and use Hibernate.
Install "Microsoft fix KB909095"
More info from Microsoft site
MORE INFORMATION
To prepare the computer to hibernate, the Windows kernel power manager requires a block of contiguous memory. The size of this contiguous memory is proportional to the number of physical memory regions that the computer is using. A computer that uses lots of RAM is likely to use more physical memory regions when the computer prepares to hibernate. Therefore, a larger amount of contiguous memory is required to prepare the computer to hibernate.
Additionally, the number of physical memory regions varies according to the programs, services, and device drivers that the computer uses. Therefore, the hibernate feature occasionally fails.
When the Windows kernel power manager detects that the hibernate feature has failed, the hibernate feature remains disabled until you restart the computer.
Once the fix is applied, the problem should be gone.

Bobby Jindal elected as first Indian American Governor of Lousiana
I was passing through the Denver Post building in Downtown Denver when i saw this in their scrolling NEWS Display. Republican Candidate Bobby Jindal, 36 has been elected as the governor of the State of Louisiana.
He is the first Indo American to ever reach this position in this US state. I am not sure if any other state ever had one. He got 54% of the votes while his nearest competitor Walter Boasso got only 18%.
His highlight was his fight against corruption. There has been some incidents of corruption in the state post Katrina .
Jindal, son of Indian immigrants, is Oxford educated. When he first ran for governor in 2003, he lost by some 4%.
Hopefully this is the start of a new phase in Louisiana's politics.

Sun Announces End of Life for JDK1.4
As per Sun Website
J2SE 1.4.2 has begun the Sun End of Life (EOL) process. The EOL transition period is from Dec, 11 2006, until the General Availability (GA) of the next Java version, Java SE 7, currently planned for the summer of 2008. With this notice, customers are strongly encouraged to migrate to the current release, Java SE 6.
What this would mean for the enterprises is a large investment in IT budget for the next year. Java SE 6 is not widely supported by many third party software that many enterprises use. So what they would end up doing in many cases is upgrade to Java SE 5. That has a mode widespread support. This in turn would lead to another upgrade in maybe 2 years from now when Java SE 5 EOL process starts. There are major changes in the JEE/J2EE architechure and implementations when upgrading to Java SE6. You will also need to upgrade App servers, Operating Systems and a lot more supporting infrastructure like Messaging Services etc to complete this upgrade.
I would call this the next y2k for off shoring businesses
